When a building becomes unsafe, it’s time to replace it. Sadly, this is the story for the treasured Newell Irrigator crow’s nest that has served the Newell School District and community well for over fifty years.
As the coming 2025/2026 football season approaches, preparations are being made for a new crow’s nest.
The new crow’s nest will be a combination of two shipping crates stacked one on top of the other. The lower crate will hold equipment and provide storage. The top crate will serve as the crow’s nest. Both shipping crates are currently being modified with windows, doors, and shelving for storage. They will be painted with the legendary Newell Irrigator ‘N’ front and center.
We thank the community members and staff who are supplying not only their equipment but also for the hours of labor it takes to make this worthy project come into fruition.
We are Newell! Go Irrigators!
