The last day of the state track meet ended with our amazing senior Rachel Erk capping off her senior year. She took her final step onto the podium with an 8th place finish in the 100 meter dash. Long jump didn't go the way we wanted but she jumped her heart out. Good luck at Mount Marty, Rachel!

Another great day in Sioux Falls (minus the wind and cold)! We started off with Clint Winkler getting a PR in the 3200M with a time of 10.44! He placed 12th! We had two high jumpers today Bejae Tesch was close but missed opening height. Sarah Erk jumped 4'9" and placed 11th! Rachel Erk ran a 27.82 in the 200M, placing her 14th. And to finish the day Eirelyn Bender threw 93' in discus placing 23rd! Great job everyone! Rachel Erk will have the 100M and long jump tomorrow.
Great showing at the first day of state track! Rachel Erk will be racing in the finals of the 100M on Saturday! She ran a personal record of 12.83 to get her there! Mesa Mangis triple jumped and received a 17th place with a jump of 31'7". And our 4x100 team ran a 53.69 which is a season best and placed 17th. Great job! Congratulations to Bodie VanDerBoom, Megan Jackson and Braylee Freytag for earning their way to the SDHSAA State golf tourney in Brookings starting June 3rd. The whole team played well today despite the cold and rainy conditions at Hart Ranch.
Great turnout for the first day of elementary basketball camp! 43 kiddos learning some great skills.

Great day in Timber Lake for the HS and MS track program! We came home with a bag full of medals and higher rankings in the state! And a huge congratulations to Rachel Erk on receiving the LMC Outstanding Female Athlete! She earned three 1st place medals and a 2nd. Two season PRs and two career PR's. This is Rachel's second time receiving this award. Next meet is Super Regions in Wall next Thursday. Come watch our great athletes.
Newell schools will host a Pacesetter Volleyball Camp for all players entering grades 3-12 Tuesday- Thursday, June 4-6 at the Austin Auditorium located in Newell. All players entering grades 3-5 will meet from 8:30-10:00 a.m., all players entering grades 6-8 will meet from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and all players entering grades 9-12 will meet from 1:00-4:00 p.m. daily. Space is limited, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible. Players registered by May 15 will receive a free camp t-shirt. All players will receive a strong program of teaching. The Pacesetter “Fundamentals for Champions” program stresses a solid foundation of instruction, followed by drills to simulate game situations, and games to help develop the skills into a habit. Pacesetter Sports is the Midwest leader in providing high-quality, low-cost programs. The Pacesetter staff is comprised of former state champions, college coaches, or highly successful high school coaches who love teaching volleyball to young people.
