Here is the October breakfast and lunch menu.

The Newell Middle School Football Team competed in Lemmon today. It was there first games of the year and they were excited. The first game was against Cheyenne-Eagle Butte. We had many touchdowns by Justin and Brendt as well as lots of extra points. The second game was against Harding County. We put up a valiant fight and Will Erk became the leading rusher of that game. We play them again October 10th in Newell. The last team we played was Lemmon/MacIntosh. After playing 3 straight 35 minute games in 90 degree temperatures with no subs our boys were starting to slow down. They gave it all they had, but fell short of the win. A big thank you to all the awesome fans who came and cheered them on and the volunteers who ran the chains from our fan base. Their next game is Thursday, October 3rd at 4:30. Go Irrigators!

The Newell Irrigator cross country team ran at the Rapid City Invite today. It was a mix of 44 schools from all over South Dakota and Wyoming. Since, this will be the same course as state it was a packed meet. We had a season record by Clint Winkler who is poised to do well at state. We had personal records by Bruno Harms, Quinlynn Bender, and McKenzie Rans. It was quite intimidating to be in a race with 200 boys varsity athletes. The girls varsity race had 180 athletes. We run in Sturgis next week on Thursday. We would love to have more fans. Thank You to Black Hills Orthopedics who always have a medical tent at these big events.

The freshman class spent the day in Rapid City at Freshman Impact: Caught in the Moment. It is a powerful one-day prevention program for young teenage students. The students see up close and learn through hands-on activities the possible consequences of wrong choices and the lasting effects physically and emotionally on their bodies, their families and friends, and their community. The program promotes communication and developing rapport between the youth and law enforcement / fire / rescue personnel.

If you have a high school or middle school student please take this survey for our high school CNA process. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/11Fa0XeT8MmxpJmFdv15SgAHbhUaNkS6pKsqkJbKVbDo/edit#responses We ask if you have already taken this survey at PT conferences that you do not take it again as that would invalidate the data. Two parents/guardians in each household are welcome to that the survey one time.
