What a great day for Newell Irrigator Cross Country! There are over 70 B schools in South Dakota. Clint Winkler placed 6th in the boys division and had a new personal record. The boys placed 9th overall. Bodie VanDerBoom also had a personal record. David Kirby ran hard too. The girls placed 18th overall. Eirelynn Bender, Lucille Ahart, McKenzie Rans, Bethany Mahaffy, and Evelyn Ahart all ran hard. McKenzie Eans had a personal record and Bethany Mahaffy had a season’s best time. A special thanks to the parents of our runners for supporting them all year and allowing us to coach their kids. Go Irrigators!!

This morning at 7 AM, Mrs. Geppert and two brave chaperones set off with nine eager members for the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis! This is a fantastic opportunity for our members to immerse themselves in the world of agriculture, gain valuable insights, and connect with fellow FFA members from across the country. We can’t wait to hear about all the tours, activities, and friendships that will blossom during this amazing experience. Safe travels, everyone!

The Newell Irrigator Cross Country Team had an outstanding day at the regional meet in Philip. Eight of our 13 team members qualified for the state meet in Rapid City on October 26th. The boys who qualified were Clint Winkler (4th), David Kirby (17th), and Bodie Vanderboom (18th). The girls who qualified were Eirelynn Bender (10th), Lucille Ahart (13th), McKenzie Rans (15th), Bethany Mahaffy (18th), and Evelyn Ahart (19th). Both teams will compete at state with the potential to place. Clint Winkler achieved a huge personal record and is aiming to place at state. Personal records were also set by McKenzie Rans, Bodie Vanderboom, and Evelyn Ahart, along with some season bests. We hope to see you at our pep rally for the state qualifiers on Thursday, October 24th. Congratulations to the entire team on a fantastic performance!
