At the September board meeting, the board received a Gold Level Board plaque from ASBSD's ALL (Act, Learn, Lead) Program. Newell's School Board accumulated 710 points during the past year. The total point accumulation places them in the #9 rank among the other 148 South Dakota School Districts in ALL points.

Please stop when you see a bus stopped with its lights flashing and the stop sign extended. The drivers of the busses have the safety of all the students in mind. Some kids exit the bus quickly, others take a bit longer. PLEASE stop and wait until the lights and signs have cleared. Newell school busses have already had a drive by this year. Your time is not worth a kid's safety or life. Stop when you see the busses' red lights and the stop sign extended.

A Dance Club meeting will be held in the lunch room tomorrow August 30th at 3:45pm. The meeting will last at the most a half hour. We will have a more detailed information packet that we will send home with your child. Parents, you are more than welcome to attend the meeting. There will be a Fall Fine Arts Parent Meeting on Monday, August 26th at 5:00 pm. Please come and join us if your child intends to participate in Art, Choir, Band, Oral Interpretation, Fall Play or One Act Play.
The 2019 - 2020 school year athletics will kick off this Friday night when the Irrigator football team faces Faith. The football game will start at 7:00. Along with the football game the Irrigator Girls' golf team will be presented their 6th place State golf banner at half time . Hope to see you all there to cheer on the Newell Irrigator football team and congratulate the Girls' on a job well done.
The second freshman computer orientation will be on Thursday 8-22-19 in the MPR. Just a reminder all freshman and at least 1 parent/guardian must attend before the student can get their computer. Thanks
