Criteria:
Graduate from a SD High School
Attain a min 3.2 gpa through 7 semesters of high school
Provide a list of extra-curricular and community service activities
Submit a 300-500 word essay detailing a personal story which illustrates an event in which the applicant demonstrated resourcefulness and optimism in the face of adversity.
Provide contact information (phone and e-mail) of two character references who can speak on behalf of the applicant's ability to demonstrate perseverance. Contacts will also be asked to speak of dedication to the service of others. Character references may not be related to the applicant. Please inform character references that they may be contacted by members of the selection committee.
