RE: C.I.C. SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Construction Industry Center Board of Directors established a
scholarship program in an effort to encourage and assist young people in our
communities. This year, again, the program is open to include all eligible
students, regardless of their field of study.
The scholarships will be specifically for children of C.I.C. member firms
and their employees.
Up to eleven (11) awards, five (5) industry related and five (5) outside
industry, of $500.00 each may be given to individuals who meet ALL
eligibility requirements as listed on the application. Additionally, one (1)
individual (from all candidates) who is deemed as submitting the best essay
(see application for details) will receive an additional $500.00 for a total of
$1,000.00 scholarship. The deadline for receipt of applications is March 31,
2019. A committee will review the scholarship applications and select the
recipients. Winners will be notified by May 1 and scholarships will be
redeemable after August 1 by providing C.I.C. with school registration
confirmation.
We hope we can count on your support to help us disseminate this
information to ALL your employees. Posting the notice in a conspicuous
place, providing copies as a payroll stuffer or an announcement at employee
meetings are a few ideas for getting the word out!

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
The Construction Industry Center Board of Directors has established this scholarship program in an effort

scholarship. Scholarships will be limited to one per year per award winner. The eligible individuals will be
judged on the basis of scholastic achievement, community service, school and non-school activities and
their answers to the questions on the application form. The judging will be done impartially without basis
of religion, race, gender or age. Deadline for applications is March 31, 2019. Award winners will be
notified by May 1. Scholarships will be redeemable after August 1 by providing C.I.C. with school
registration confirmation. There will be a limit of four (4) scholarships awarded to an individual.
SCHOLARSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
1. GRADUATING SENIOR IN HIGH SCHOOL OR HIGHER. MUST BE A FULL TIME
STUDENT.
2. PARENTS OR GUARDIANS OF APPLICANT MUST OWN OR BE EMPLOYED BY A C.I.C.
MEMBER FIRM MAINTAINING A CURRENT ASSOCIATE OR FULL MEMBERSHIP IN THE
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY CENTER.
3. MUST BE ENTERING OR ATTENDING AN ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY OR TRADE
SCHOOL.
4. FILL OUT APPLICATION FORM IN ITS ENTIRETY AND RETURN TO C.I.C. ALONG WITH
YOUR ESSAY, TRANSCRIPT AND REFERENCE LETTERS BY THE MARCH 31, 2019
DEADLINE.
ESSAY REQUIREMENTS
ALL APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT AN ESSAY FOR THEIR SCHOLARSHIP
APPLICATION TO BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE.
The topic of the essay is: "How will you, through your intended field of study, impact and benefit the
construction industry?" The essay should be 500 words or less, typewritten, 8.5” x 11” page w/ 1”
margins, double-spaced. Consideration will be given to original, unique ideas, neatness, clarity, and
grammar, spelling and punctuation.
