\r\nKim,

\r\n

\r\nWestern is proud to offer our scholars the chance to learn in a small school environment with hands-on educational opportunities and access to world-class outdoor recreation while still being an affordable option.

\r\n

\r\nDid you know immediately upon acceptance at Western, every student is considered for a\r\n\r\nMerit Scholarship worth between $8,000-$10,000 for out-of-state students? The amount is based on the student's GPA and ACT/SAT scores. We encourage students to use our\r\n\r\nNet Price Calculator to determine if they qualify for a merit scholarship.

\r\n

\r\nWe also offer these \r\ntuition discount programs for out of state students:

\r\n

\r\nWestern Undergraduate Exchange and Central Plains
\r\nStudents with a permanent address from 25 states in the West and Midwest are automatically considered for reduced tuition rates upon completion of the admissions process.

\r\n
    \r\n
  • \r\nWestern Undergraduate Exchange (WUE) and Central Plains (CP) tuition are a substantial saving relative to normal, out-of-state tuition. Students eligible for either program will be charged 150 percent of Western’s total in-state tuition. For 2019-20, the discount\r\n is valued at $4,335.
  • \r\nOnly students who do not qualify for a merit scholarship, are eligible for the WUE CP tuition program.
\r\n

\r\nThere isn't a separate application process to be considered for WUE or CP status. All students are reviewed with a completed application file.

\r\n

\r\nNeighboring States
\r\nStudents with a permanent address from one of the seven contiguous neighboring states to Colorado who have demonstrated financial need are automatically considered for a special $1,000 per year grant, up to $4,000 over four years.

\r\n

\r\nThe Western Neighboring States Program can be added to WUE, CP or merit scholarships.

\r\n

\r\nAlso, students who confirm enrollment by November 1 and who are eligible for merit aid will receive an additional $500 to help them pay for school.\r\n\r\nEncourage your student to apply today!
