Fall is upon us, and it’s the perfect time for your students to start planning for higher education—both for seniors who are narrowing their college searches and for younger students who are developing the next phase in their learning.

As you guide your students in preparing for their future, I wanted to announce that Washington College, a liberal arts college in Chestertown, MD, is offering the Washington College Academic Tuition Scholarship—and it’s automatically awarded to National Honor Society (NHS) members who are accepted into the school.

Beginning fall 2019, the scholarship grants a minimum of $18,000 per year for up to four years while enrolled at Washington College, up from $15,000 per year. The increase reflects Washington College’s ongoing commitment to make higher education accessible to all students regardless of means, especially those who demonstrate promise as tomorrow’s leaders.

I encourage you to forward this information to your students so that they may visit www.washcoll.edu to view all that Washington College has to offer, and explore how it might fall within their education goals.

And don’t forget—the deadline for the NHS Scholarship award is just around the corner! Make sure your students submit their applications by December 7, and complete your adviser recommendations by December 14.

Sincerely,

Nara Lee\r\nDirector, National Honor Societies\r\nNASSP
